Hello! My name is Liesl Daum...
...Hence the name behind the website! I find great joy and passion in the little things that make life really great. The important things that matter the most. And due to my "open book" nature, you will see I write about pretty much anything and everything a girl/mother/wife might relate to. I have always enjoyed writing and sharing with others so that is exactly what this blog is intended for. I share my thoughts, life experiences, motherhood journey, advice, recipes, DIY projects, photography, random ideas... Quite literally anything and everything!
My husband and I have been married for 7 years. We love exploring the great outdoors, hiking, camping, traveling, scuba diving, eating, crossfit, and also just hanging out as a family. I was born and raised in Arizona (Go Devils!) and Eric is from Ohio (Go Bucks!). I grew up dancing, riding and showing Quarter Horses (AQHA, IBHA & ABRA), and dabbling here and there in art (drawing, painting, etc.). I was raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but took a long hiatus starting in high school until a short time after Eric and I were married; so 11 years "inactive", give or take. I was a bit of a lost, “wild child” for a while there, but now I couldn't imagine my life without the gospel in it. What a blessing my life's journey has been - the good and the bad - and all the growth and learning that has come from it. Heavenly Father certainly has a higher plan for all of us. We might not know what it is until we go through it and look back but, rest assured, He is always there throughout the journey and everything certainly does happen for a reason. I call it “the greater ‘yes’.” I come from a large, crazy family (4 brothers!) that I seriously adore (no matter how dysfunctional we can be sometimes); and the addition of my husband's amazing family to my life has been the best bonus I could have ever imagined. I gave birth to our oldest son in the summer of 2015 and then our youngest son was born on Christmas morning 2 years later. I am completely obsessed with those handsome little boys and being a “boy mom” and wife - even with the inevitable frustrations that come with motherhood. Shortly before I became a mom I made the big decision to quit my corporate, Executive Assistant job and fully dedicate myself to being a parent and homemaker because I truly believe that "The most important work you will ever do is within the walls of your own home." And “if you want to change the world, go home and love your family.” I am so grateful we have the ability for me to stay home to raise our kids because I know not every mom can (and some don't want to - to each their own!). But for me, especially knowing what I know now, going through the things I had to endure in the corporate world and the lessons I learned to get me to this point, I absolutely wouldn't have things any other way. Motherhood is HARD, but it really is so worth it and I know it’s something I’ll never regret. Life is good. God is good. Thanks for stopping by! Let’s enjoy the journey together! ~ Mrs. Daum "It's a Daum good life!" |
